Submission Requirements
Story Submissions

Are you a writer? Please send a sample of your writing.  Small sample should be one page long and no more than 450  words
Please include your name first, date submitted, title of story, phone number, address & email address, and time best to reach you in your time zone.

By submitting stories, you are agreeing to the risk that all stories posted on the Galloping Geezer website may be copied by some people and there is no true way prevent this from happening. You are also agreeing to give us your permission for free use of said stories. However, your stories do remain your own property.
Here are the kind of stories and articles we look for:
  • short stories - fiction and non fiction
  • personal glimpses
  • in service humor
  • at work stories
  • family stories
  • travel stories
  • patriotic stories
  • romance and adventure stories
  • humorous or interesting poetry - Cracker Barrel & Cowboy poets welcome!
  • historical glimpses – fiction or non-fiction based on documented fact
  • crafts
  • fishing & hunting
  • bird watching
  • hiking
  • gardening
  • and everything else interesting for our senior and boomer audience!
Photo Submissions

Please send three 72dpi samples at 3x5, 4x6 or 5x7 sizing of your photo work first as jpg files. These must be photos you took or own. Be sure to include captions of who & where with all photo submissions in the body of your email or attached separately as a text file. Please include your name first, date submitted, title of story, phone number, address & email address, and time best to reach you in your time zone. After initial approval by the editiorial staff of gallopinggeezer.com, you may submit further photos.

By submitting photos, you are agreeing to the risk that all photos posted on the Galloping Geezer website may be copied by some people and there is no true way prevent this from happening. We will review and select the best photos that suit our upcoming issues of The Galloping Geezer Gazette. We are trying to build photo themes up to 3 months in advance, so please submit seasonal photo themes no later that 2 months in advance.  Thanksgiving Photos by the beginning of September for example. We will try to get as many photos in as possible but we do reserve the right to editorial elements, such as content, quality, space and time and labor restrictions.

  • historical
  • old car & hot rod
  • family or silly stuff
  • artsy photos
  • wildlife, birds, nature

  • fun in the military service
  • bluegrass, blues, jazz, etc.
Anything that represents American values, places and events.
All story and photo submissions must be family-rated and have G-rated content.
