Forget the Moment, but Then Maybe Not
By Malcolm Guy Boswell

Forget the moment, it is gone!
It came without notice, without intent.
It came, it went... that's all... gone.

But then, maybe it did have intent!
Coming to put us to the test
to see if we would go along with it,
wherever it is moments go once they are done.

I say forget the moment, it is gone.
Rain upon the ocean, swept away with the current,
confusing itself with all the other moments gone by.

But then, maybe lets not forget, maybe just let go,
let it drift away into the vastness of our soul,
like a voyager who promises to return
as memories crash upon the shores of our awareness
like waves of life that shape and mold who we are
and what we will be when the next moment comes.
